Committees
IARF uses committees to find out what is going on in the field and as a forum to help solve the problems in our industry.
Behavioral Health Committee
The Behavioral Health Committee advocates for complete development of a statewide, comprehensive, community-based behavioral health system. In its work, the committee responds to issues of community behavioral health centers, and links the Association’s efforts with state and federal policy-makers to resolve service barriers for people with mental illness and substance abuse problems.
Staff Liaison: Cassie Ayres
Chief Financial Officers Committee
The Chief Financial Officers Committee addresses issues pertinent to program finance, service costs, and data management. This information is applicable to community agency budgets, cost reports and reimbursements, contract negotiations, financial impact analyses, and other applications of data relating to human services finance.

Children and Youth Committee
The Children and Youth Services Committee works to develop and implement objectives that support community agencies who provide services to children and families in Illinois. The committee creates a link between community providers and state and federal policy-makers for early intervention, public and private education, and child welfare.
Staff Liaison: Lora McCurdy
Developmental Disabilities Committee
For years, the Association’s Board of Directors seated a Vocational Committee to deal with those issues which vocational rehabilitation faced. As community agencies broadened their services the traditional vocational committee was outgrown. The Developmental Disabilities Services Committee has as its purpose the discussion of matters that affect the ability of community agencies to provide programs and services for persons with developmental disabilities. The Committee focuses on workshop, developmental training, supported employment and rehabilitation services issues. This new focus allows members of the Association to have a centralized committee structure for issues involving non-residential services to persons with developmental disabilities.
Staff Liaison: Chris Burnett
Human Resources Committee The Human Resource Committee, which held its first meeting on January 24th, 2001 at the IARF Headquarters, is designed to provide an outlet for human service professionals employed in the social service field to share information and discuss best practices.
Staff Liaison: Bridget Ganey
