Education
A primary goal of the Association is to provide a forum for the
continuing education needs of its members.
The Association hosts a spring Meeting of the Membership designed to
focus discussion on the Association's agenda for the year and to review the
accomplishments of the organization.
In the fall, the Association convenes its Annual
Conference and Trade Show. This event is a combination of business and educational opportunities for medical,
rehabilitation/human service professionals from around the state and the region. This
annual event typically draws over 600 human service professionals.
Beyond these conferences, the Association administers training events
in response to your needs. Members can call the Association for help in any area; board
and staff orientation, long range planning, etc. We will come to your agency, and address
your problem specifically, or if the need is more general we can arrange statewide or
regional training.
For any training event, members of the Association pay reduced tuition
and in most instances continuing education credits are offered. The Association partners
with ICAN for the awarding of Nursing Home Administrator, Licensed Social Worker/Clinical
Social Worker, and Certified Public Accountant credits as well as IARF CEUs which are
accepted by the CCWAVES. On occasion, the Association, with ICAN, also offers Certified
Rehabilitation Counseling credits.
The Association members have access to ICANs expanded video
lending library so that members can train on-site at their agencies.
To keep professionals and practitioners in our member agencies
contemporary, the Association is looking to the stars to bring training directly to your
agency. Distance learning, satellite downlinks, and a venture to bring training to your
television are on the horizon!
Call us when you have a training need...we can help. Our number is (217) 528-6656.
