The 2022 IARF Educational Conference & Expo will be held on August 31 – September 2 at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria. We invite you to share your ideas and expertise and submit a presentation proposal for our event! IARF is Illinois largest statewide association of community-based Intellectual/Developmental Disability and Behavioral Health service providers.
The theme of this year’s Conference is Recharge • Refresh • Renew. The aim is to provide attendees an opportunity to explore new ideas, learn from one another, and enjoy some fun and relaxation. We are excited to bring our attendees all the innovative and exciting opportunities that this type of Conference will offer! Topics in these areas might include self-care, resilience, team building, and organizational recovery.
Our goal with our Annual Educational Conference is to offer attendees a creative learning environment where they can increase skills, problem-solve, network and celebrate the work they do. The committee seeks proposals that will accomplish the following:
Audience: Community-based I/DD and Behavioral Health Service Provider professionals in the State of Illinois including but not limited to:
Presentation Focus
Research suggests that interactive sessions increase attendees’ experience, opportunities to network with peers, and retention of the information that is presented. When submitting a proposal, please consider formatting your presentation for such interaction. We realize that not every subject is conducive to this presentation style, so you should not be dissuaded from submitting a proposal if that is the case.
Suggested Speaker / Topic Criteria
Speakers with experience in the field of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and/or Behavioral Health services and supports are encouraged to submit a proposal. A range of topics will be considered for the event, from direct services and supports to personal/professional development. Topics are not limited and we do encourage you to submit proposals on applicable criteria not specifically listed.
Submission Overview
You do not need to be a member of IARF to submit a proposal. Commercial content, product or service-related advertisements are not permitted. Session content must be educational. Presenters selected for the conference will also receive a discount on registration.
Submission Deadline
All presentation proposals must be electronically submitted by no later than June 1, 2022.

- Deliver content in an engaging and interactive way that draws on the experience of attendees; and
- Utilize case studies to advance discussion of lessons learned from the experience.
