IARF/NADSP Front Line Supervisor Train-the-Trainer Series
For the last two years IARF has partnered with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) to host full-day trainings across Illinois for Front Line Supervisors working at I/DD community-based agencies. The faculty with NADSP utilized best practices and discussed core competencies with over 500 supervisors throughout the state. The Association is pleased to announce the evolution of our partnership with NADSP in 2024 to host the full “Train the Trainer” series with cohorts of member agencies.
NADSP ‘Frontline Supervisor Train-The-Trainer Curriculum: From Management to Leadership’
The NADSP ‘Frontline Supervisor Train-The-Trainer Curriculum: From Management To Leadership’ helps organizational trainers equip Frontline Supervisors with the tools and skills needed for on-the-job success. Trainers will utilize comprehensive e-Learning curriculum, developed through a dynamic online platform, with multimedia integration, surveying features, interactive components, and the capability for course content to be updated in real-time.
Using the curriculum materials completely stored in the cloud on a platform called, CourseSites, when trainers access the curriculum they will be able to conduct workshops on-site at their agency. In these workshops, trainers will help Frontline Supervisors transform from solely a management outlook to taking on a true leadership role, through in-depth, interactive, and engaging activities.

IARF Member Agency Cohort Model
We know the cost of bringing in the expert faculty with NADSP for individual organizations can be costly. However, through our continued partnership with NADSP, we can lower the cost to member organizations through a cohort model, through which members can send up to three individuals per agency. This year, IARF will host three cohorts of no more than 10 member agencies per cohort. This approach will ensure member agency trainers can receive the full ‘train-the-trainer’ experience and access the online curriculum to conduct workshops on-site at their agency. Further, trainers that have participated in these cohorts can provide on-site workshops at other agencies within the cohorts, maximizing learning and continuing education earning potential. Members/trainers need only attend a single workshop!
