Purpose of the Frontline Supervisor Training – “The Why”
We explore why we need to develop and fortify Frontline Supervisors (personal outcomes, financial efficiencies, turnover decrease, staff morale are all parts of “why” we need this program). NADSP “believes” that Frontline Supervisors are the key to quality improvement in all organizations supporting people with disabilities. Using the NADSP Code of Ethics
The values of direct support practice are experienced in an interactive session where participants use the NADSP Code of Ethics in situations of supervision. |
NADSP National Competency Areas – The Foundation of It All
The 15 validated competencies are explored and become ultimately the lenses through which Frontline Supervisors observe and evaluate their staff. National Frontline Supervisor Competencies
The 11 nationally validated Frontline Supervisor competencies are explored. These are the foundation of high-quality Frontline Supervisor Competence and serve as the basis for developing oneself as a manager, supervisor, and leader. |
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

John Raffaele, MSW is the Director of Educational Services at the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals. John has a Masters of Social Work degree and is a highly experienced group worker, community organizer, educator and facilitator. John's graduate education is from Yeshiva University in New York City and State University of New York at New Paltz, NY.
His career spans over 30 years and those years have been spent teaching direct support professionals and the people they support. Most of the people with whom he has worked and supported over the last 30 plus years are people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, at-risk youth, and people with chronic and terminal illnesses in home-care settings. Between 2001 and 2012 John worked as a Director of Training and Education for a developmental disabilities service provider in New York and gained notoriety consulting and teaching throughout the United States. John also taught undergraduate and graduate human services classes at The State University at New Paltz, NY and for the City University of New York City.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:
A total of 5 CEUs (each session) will be available for each session attended.
REGISTRATION OPTIONS:
Various dates and locations are available for each training and space is limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot! Although encouraged, registration for both courses is not required and attendees can register for each individually.
