Home and Community-Based Provisions of the Federal Medicaid Access Rule Training Series - Hosted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

CMS is pleased to announce an upcoming training series on the HCBS Provisions of the Medicaid Access Rule. The Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services final rule (Access rule) advances access to care and quality of care and will improve health outcomes for Medicaid beneficiaries across fee-for-service (FFS) and managed care delivery systems, including home- and community-based services (HCBS) provided through those delivery systems. Specifically, the HCBS provisions of the rule makes sweeping changes intended to strengthen necessary safeguards to ensure health and welfare, promote health equity for people receiving Medicaid covered HCBS, and achieve a more consistent and coordinated approach to the administration of policies and procedures across Medicaid HCBS programs. In order to ensure that all partners fully understand the various HCBS provisions within the Access rule, as well as, have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on implementation of the rule, CMS will be hosting training sessions on several key provisions of the rule. Information regarding dates of the training, tentative topics for each session, and registration information can be found below.

Wisconsin Act 323 (aka the Partners with Business initiative) has been supporting capacity building strategies with employers and service providers since 2017. Shannon Webb has been providing training and technical assistance to Act 323 grantees, including Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin (NCW). Goodwill NCW has been building their capacity through the Partners with Business initiative by fostering increased growth, independence and inclusivity for the people they support at work and improving job coaching and case management practices. During this webinar, they will share insights about:
