Forces for Good in Challenging Times
In this time of economic instability, rising social movements, and a public health pandemic that rages on, nonprofits are caught in the eye of a perfect storm. Demand for social services is skyrocketing, while budgets are tighter than ever, and our human capacity to deliver on the front lines has been stretched to the snapping point. Yet even in the most challenging times, leading nonprofits have found ways to survive and even thrive in the face of adversity. Forces for Good coauthor Leslie Crutchfield studied some highest-impact nonprofits to be founded in recent U.S. history, unearthing their secrets to success and understanding the unique strategies their leaders employed to manage through tumultuous times like the ones we now face. She will share what she learned and explore how the “six practices of high-impact nonprofits” revealed in Forces for Good can be applied by nonprofits across Illinois to adapt with resiliency, and how leaders across the IARF network can pivot to achieve even more impact than ever.
